Born and bred in South Wales, Julia lived for a few years in Reading whilst studying French at the university there. After a post-graduate bi-lingual secretarial course she married Philippe (who she had met on a beach in Brittany!) and they lived and worked in Abu Dhabi for 12 years. During that time they had their three daughters and in the early 1990’s moved to eastern France, on the border near Geneva.
Julia and the family settled into both the French and international communities and started attending a local English-speaking church community, now known as La Côte Anglican Church. Small seeds of faith grew until Julia explored a sense of vocation and was ordained priest in 2007.
Currently she is Assistant Chaplain of La Côte Anglican Church and works mainly with the congregation in her home town of Divonne-les-Bains. Leisure activities now revolve around cuddles and playing with her beautiful new granddaughter…but reading and watching box sets are also favourite pastimes.
Julia’s exploration of health matters began through her chronic balance condition which she has lived with for nearly 12 years. It has been a challenging and sometimes arduous journey for her, leading down reflective by-ways and revealing some unexpected insights.
